In March, our students gathered at Ground Zero indoor rock climbing in Burnside. Working in teams of two, students had the opportunity to challenge themselves in a safe environment, climbing walls of differing degrees of difficulty that are built in a manor to mimic that of the outdoors. They were given instruction on safe practices and how to use appropriate equipment effectively. Each student had instruction on different holds and walls that contained in-cuts and bulges. When off the wall, all climbers were supporting their teammates by belaying their climbing rope; an excellent trust exercise! Staff and students had an absolute blast and loved the afternoon!
