On Friday, April 6, our Grade 10 students attended the NSCC Skills Competition at the Ivany Campus in Woodside. This competition provided our students, and students from across the province, the opportunity to explore skilled trades and technologies. Students got to participate in Interactive Areas such as 3D Game Art, Carpentry, Construction, Mechatronics, and many others, along with being able to observe competitions in Bricklaying, Industrial Mechanics, Robotics, Refrigeration, and other career training opportunities offered by NSCC.
Our students got to drive a computerized tractor, try slushie samples from the refrigeration students, and cut out their own wooden carvings. It was a great experience for our Business Technology class to show how many ways technology can be tied into their future paths!
